Highway 70 Travel Advisory

Coming from the west or south? Bay Area, Sacramento? There’s a post-burn slide on Highway 70, which might be the way you normally drive to the event. It MAY reopen, but will have one way traffic control with long backups.

I-80 to State Rte 89 in Truckee is the preferred way to travel. Going through Truckee adds 15 minutes to your drive (although it might save you an hour this year!) and is also much safer overall—so get the word out and plan to go that way.
