Comprised of The Slip boys, troubadour Nathan Moore and longtime friend and keyboardist Marco Benevento, SMMD came together one late night at High Sierra back in the early Quincy years and that relationship has sustained and evolved over time into an off-shoot that has grown its own roots and branches and now thrives on its own. SMMD lets all of these guys explore their rock’n’roll sides as they focus more on teeing up concise, well crafted pop and rock songs and that suits them perfectly. And speaking of suits, there’s something endearing when these guys sport their thrift store suits and slim ties and present themselves similarly to the way the early British rock’n’roll bands did circa mid 1960’s. This is a super fun project for all involved and it shows the minute they take the stage. SMMD has had some epic sets at the festival over the years and this year will most likely follow suit.
