A cornerstone of High Sierra since its beginnings, this genre-bending six-piece from Boulder, CO once coined the term "Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass" to accurately describe their unique blend of bluegrass, rock, country and Cajun/Zydeco, and became well known and loved for their electrifying, often psychedelic sets on the Grandstand Stage and in epic Late Night shows. Their excellent musicianship, varied songwriting styles and propensity for on- and off-stage theatrics made them one of the most popular national touring acts for 15 years. In their storied career Leftover Salmon has released albums on both a major label (Hollywood Records) and respected independent label (Compass Records), performed on the H.O.R.D.E. tour, and been memorably captured on film, most recently in a new documentary entitled Years In Your Ears... A Story of Leftover Salmon, by Colorado filmmaker Eric Abramson. The Boulder Daily Camera praised the film's portrayal of the history of Boulder's newgrass scene, and says "the film makes a case for Salmon's place as the bridge between traditional bluegrass and today's jammy strain." Yet fans will affirm that the real deal is to experience Leftover Salmon live. Get ready to head upstream for another memorable festival!
