"Honk if you love funk"
A highly energized funk machine, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe has been expanding listeners' minds and making them move to animated grooves since 1998. Led by former Lenny Kravitz sax-man Karl Denson (who also co-founded the funky acid jazz/west coast boogaloo band Greyboy All-Stars), the Tiny Universe brings a dynamic sound that defies categorization but one that is always highly danceable. The band members, Denson on vocals, tenor sax, alto sax and flute, guitarist Brian Jordan, bassist Ron Johnson, keyboard player David Veith, trumpet player Chris Littlefield and recent addition drummer Terrence Higgins, have earned a reputation as kings of the unstoppable all-night show as many a High Sierra attendee can attest. And Denson also has a bit of a reputation for sitting in with many a band and taking things over the top in the process. We're getting our dancing shoes ready knowing that Karl and KDTU will be part of the festivities during the 20th annual High Sierra.
