"Enchanting rag-tag traveling minstrel
chorus"
Seeing an Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes set is like
witnessing an incredible impromptu campfire, living room or
street corner session - it's comes off as a completely organic
and intimate experience and the sense is that would be true
whether they're playing to a crowd of twenty five or twenty
five thousand people...At the center of their folksy-chorale
sound is the soulful he/she vocal exchange of main singers
Alex Ebert and Jade Castrinos followed by a veritable parade
of singers, whistlers, hand-clappers, and tambourine shakers
balanced with the strumming of acoustic guitars, hand percussion,
trumpet, keyboard, accordion and more. And while this untidy
yet visually compelling ten-piece ensemble looks like they
strolled right out of the magical world of Oregon Country
Fair or Sherwood Forest, their music appeals to one of the
most diverse audiences we've seen in a long time as their
2010 performances at such music festivals as Coachella, Telluride
Bluegrass, Bonnaroo and High Sierra attest to.
