Hailing from Philadelphia Dr. Dog's infectious, high-energy sound has been compared to that of various 1960's orchestral, song-driven bands such as The Beatles and The Band as well as lo-fi indie-rock bands of the 1990's such as Pavement. Praised for their stirring live performances that lean heavily on enticing vocal harmonies, Dr. Dog started picking up steam while touring with My Morning Jacket in 2004. They've continued this ascent into what looks to be an enduring career as purveyors of refreshing, invigorating pop/rock. Their performances at High Sierra last year were met with such an overwhelmingly positive response that we just had to ask them back again this year.
